Moderators moving topics - here we go again

Yesterday I posted a topic entitled, "That Fucking GOP" which was a humorous account of female hookers planning to converge on NYC during the Republican National Convention. ;-)

 

Apparently, one of the moderators here saw that as a "political" topic, unworthy of humor in The Lounge. x(

 

Could someone maybe explain to the moderators here the difference between humor which happens to be political, and a political post which happens to be humorous? Apparently they don't get it. :7

I have no idea who moved that thread, and I haven't seen it (and likely won't). But on the subject alone, I would have moved it too.

 

Compose better subjects if you want a thread to be perceived as humor. As written, the subject is not funny and is a taunt for exactly the sort of bashing the politics forum was created for.

Only if you read the content before reading the subject. (I looked, only for you!)

 

Read the subject without context and it has a big-ass target painted on its back.

 

If the subject were "<name an escort> BAREBACKS" and the message body was about <name an escort> riding horses, it would all be innocent right?

 

When you write a subject, assume nobody knows what you're talking about (because they won't).

Sometime ago there was this similar discussion about moderators moving threads. I typed a very "reflex" reply and then deleted it because of the fact it was a reflex reaction. However, this time, I must speak.

 

This is a free site. The moderators can do whatever they want with a topic. If you come here and you make no donations then you have no right to complain. This is Hoo's site, Daddy does a great deal of techno work with keeping it running and the moderators, who do this of their own free will and time, can do whatever they want with your topics.

 

If I posted a thread about "The Anguish of Amish Lesbians Without Tongues" in The Lounge and a moderator viewed it as political then so be it ... move it to the appropriate space.

 

Now, if you do make donations to this site and you don't like how threads are handled then send your concerns to Hoo. Based on his reply you have 2 choices:

 

1) continue to participate

2) cease donations and leave

 

I come to this site daily. I have yet to make a donation and I most certainly should since I thoroughly enjoy this forum. I have met many nice people here. BUT DAMN - stop your bitching - it's free. What you posted is political in nature - regardless if it was humor, commentary or news.
