Latincity just recently opened on State street in Block 37 in downtown Chicago. It is a Latin American food court where you can grab foods from just about every Latin American country! I finally stopped by and I had food from Peru. I ordered up the chicken teriyaki with fried rice. There is a pic of what I had on my Twitter page for those of you who enjoy food porn. The dish was quite tasty! The fried rice I had with it was very light and fluffy, the chicken teriyaki had bacon YES BACON, red and green peppers and orange zest. The orange zest threw me off a bit cause I've never had that in my teriyaki on the west coast. Course this is a Peruvian spin so maybe that's how they roll. And I am totes OK with that, it worked. I can't wait to get back and try some of the other dishes from the other stands. I sometimes pick fun of my Mexi peeps and my other Latin American cousins but I always have the most pride of my Latin culture when I am presented with a delish plate of food. http://www.latinicity.com/ I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone coming to Chicago to check this joint out! Oh and bring your dancing shoes cause the various Latin tunes playing will make you wanna do a Tango or Salsa!

Hugs,

Greg

Really Greg, really. At dinner time!!!! hahaha. It's about dinner time here and you're writing about wonderful chicken teriyaki with BACON and fluffy fried rice. I was just going to have a meatloaf sandwich....with my mouth watering now, I have to go out... probably go to one of our great Mexican restaurants. Meatloaf just doesn't seem enough.

Get a couple pieces of bread, toss the meatloaf on top and smother that bitch in GRAVY! I had leftovers of the teriyaki which I just ate but I am still hungry.

Maybe you are going to have to bring your butt out here to Chicago. Winter time is a great time to come out, less crowds. I'm sure you could find someone to keep you toasty warm ;)

mmmmm....do hear Chicago is nice this time of year. Yes, being from a warmer year around climate, I would definitely need someone... not just anyone though.. to keep me warm. Let's me think... who? :)
