I admit it. I got into barebacking the last few years. I am an older guy who lived thru the worst of the HIV epidemic of the 1980s unscathed. At the time, I did the responsible thing and wear condoms. I even went thru a period of celibacy during the first part of the epidemic until they developed a test. I am exclusively a top, and I somehow always felt more safe. There was incorrect information years ago that tops couldn't become infected, which we know now is untrue.

 

As the years went by, and I developed long term fuck buddy relationships with various guys in the 90s, we each got tested, waited, and barebacked exclusively with each other. I felt that getting tested and barebacking with limited partners was more responsible, and I was willing to take the risk as there were also medical advances in HIV treatment.

I only used the female condom once, and you're right, it is better. The bottom during that experience was pretty paranoid though, so overall it was not satisfying, but it had nothing to do with condoms.
