Love Love Love Pit bulls. I took care of my best friend's pit bull for a long time while he was away, loved that beast like no other. The only problem, he thought he was a lap dog. A 115 lb pit bull trying to lay on top of you going to sleep is not pleasant until he stops walking all over your nuts.

Peanut butter anyone?

IDK I always feel regardless of enviornment and upbringing an animal's inbred instincts are always there just as OURS are o_O My cuz's 5yo Pittbull had the personailty of a rabbit SWEETEST thing in the world, then after all those years he attacked my 90-something Aunt who had helped raise him and pretty much was the one who always fed him, made no sense, 80 stitches in her legs. And MY Golden Retriever who was more like a roomate he took showers loved having his teeth brushed every morning flew everywhere with me stayed in 5 star hotels ate sitting down lol etc ONE day after EIGHT YEARS out of the blue came in from the yard walked up to me and dropped a DEAD BIRD at my feet. (it was a present I know lol but honestly it was as shocking as if a PERSON staying with me had done ito_O

I think most people should never own a pit bull because they wouldn't be able to properly take care of one and train one. I don't necessarily think they're all dangerous, but they do seem like a breed that demand more attention than others and most people these days can't provide that.

And I'm a cat fan, they're so much easier to take care of, and they're less demanding. But I'm not opposed to dogs I would own one. I just wouldn't get one as big as a pit bull, and definitely not something as small as a yappy dog.

I would love to have another dog or cat.... have had 3 beautiful smart dogs (my Jack Russell was so smart, he used to read the Wall Street Journal every morning... :) ) and 2 beautiful cats over a 30 year period.... and so many wonderful memories, but the pain when they pass... especially when my last cat died, means no more pets. Can't handle that sadness anymore.

My dog reads the Economist and then we discuss the articles. He also helps with the Sarurday and Sunday NYTimes crosswords, but mostly suggests woof or arf as the answers.
