Taking a poll. Who actually knows who Dale Evans is?

One of my great embarrassments as a kid was when my mom inadvertently bought me what she thought was a Roy Roger's lunch box that had a pic of Dale Evans on it. She could not return it and it was red. Therefore she took some red nail polish and covered where it said Dale Evans. Fortunately there was a pic of Trigger on the Lunch Box so no harm no foul.

Now how many know who Trigger is!?

Now that is a great story WG.

Yes I know who she was---not only was she Roy Rogers' wife, she also wrote the song "Happy Trails" for the show--it was on radio before it appeared on TV. She also wrote a best-selling book Angel Unaware about the life and death of one of their sons.

Trigger was Roy's horse, and he had a dog named Bullet, I believe--Dale's horses' name escapes me for the moment. Any help??

Shoot! Now I'm wondering if the horse on the lunchbox was really Buttermilk!!!???

But then again a horse is a horse... Of course of course...

So again no harm no foul!

Do you remember what the horse looked like? Roy's was a big palamino. Dale's was smaller and perhaps an Arabian. I remember it being gray and less beautiful than Trigger.

It just showed the head of the horse in profile as I recall. Plus it was a not a photo but rather a sketch so it would be impossible to really distinguish which horse it actually was.

Of course of all this occurred before Trigger's demise which occurred in 1965.

Thanks for posting WG...but that made me a little sad. Not sure why, as it was a long time ago, and almost before my time.

Thanks for the post, Marylander, and for all the additional comments from others. I grew up on a farm, had horses, cattle, pigs and chickens. I can tell you that sex on hay bales or straw bales, or even loose hay or straw is not nearly as much fun as the porno movies make it out to be !!!! It can be soft and a lot of fun if you have a blanket over the straw or hay !!!
