Visited Berlin for the first time in August. Booked a great guy named Aaron from Planet Romeo. Stayed with a group at the Hotel Maritim near the concert hall and the Tiergarten. Very fine hotel. Don't know the rates, since it was part of the tour package. Good location on bus line and walking distance to the Sony Center. I can recommend a good place to eat. One is Der Alte Fritz--traditional German food, attracts both tourists and locals--very good informal kind of place--best smoked pork with sauerkraut and dumplings!!! and beer of course. Also the Sony Center is worth a visit--really attractive public space with good restaurants, movie theater, film museum, etc. If you are into old master paintings, the Gemaldegallerie has a fabulous collection.
