Some Discomfort

Don't know if this is an appropriate post on this site, but I'll do it anyway.

I've always played safe with the guys I've been with when it comes to anal sex. I haven't always used condoms for oral pleasure however. I never swallow or share semen with with any of my partners. I've only had two partners where I didn't use condoms for oral.

Here's the problem. In the last few days, I've started to experience some discomfort in my penis on top of the head at the slit. I do not have any discharge and I don't have any pain while urinating or ejaculating. No discoloration or anything. It just hurts a little. Sometimes even when my underwear rubs against the tip, it's painful. I've never had a STD before. Does this sound like the symptoms for an STD? Any help would be appreciated.

It might. Might also be the symptoms for a plain, old injury. Like the previous poster said, go have it checked out. The medical profession has seen it all before. If you're in a major, metro area, there will be a VD clinic where you can give them your real name, like Norman Schwartzkopf, and no one will care.

You definitely need to go get checked. I think sometimes you can have something and not have the classic symptoms, so an STD can't be ruled out by you. However, as you point out you don't have the classic symptoms. If you don't want the test on your medical history there is usually a clinic around that can maintain anonymity, at least for the initial testing. I had chlamydia maybe 10 years ago, with the classic symptoms. I thought I had it again maybe 5 years ago-it felt the same but no discharge and didn't hurt any more with urination than it did anytime else. I had every test known to the doctors. All the STD tests came up negative; then they did ultrasound which found nothing and several visits to the urologist, again nada. They never found any infection of any kind or anything else wrong or abnormal, but after some hefty doses of ibuprofen, whatever it was stopped hurting.

When I was in my twenties, I used to masturbate in the shower with soap as lube on occasion.

 

A few times I would notice that my slit would hurt when I pee. I would go to a clinic, and they wouldn't find anything wrong but they would give me antibiotic pills for a week anyhow just in case.

 

After doing this for a few months (I normally masturbate in the bedroom -- masturbating in the shower is rare), I worked out a theory. That the soap would linger just on the underside of my dick after taking a shower. During the course of the day, the soap seep into the slit, causing me to have a bit of irritation. Nowadays, I would masturbate in the shower, and after orgasm, I make sure that I rinse the underside of my dick more thoroughly. I haven't had any irritation since. I can't really prove this theory until I have irritation again and I haven't had this for a decade. So far, the theory holds true.

One can definitely get gonorrhea and syphyllis, and probably chlamydia from oral sex (without a condom of course). There's also an STD called ureaplasma, which, strangely enough, there aren't any commercially available tests for. Assuming no syphyllis, everything can be treated with a single dose of Zithromax one gram, and Cipro one half gram (orally). Although this may be nothing but physical irritation (or a minor yeast problem), I would get tested then take the above medications regardless of the results. Of course, partner treatment and abstaining from sex for 10 days after taking the Zithromax is needed, or the treatment is useless.

I do masterbate in the shower quite a bit. If not everyday, then every other day. Thanks for the info.

OK, called the dr. and can't get in until thursday even at the "discreet" clinic. thought things were going better today, but as the day progressed, had higher frequency of urination and still uncomfortable. Have to let the doc tell me for sure.
