It was the word "courtesan" that freaked them out, I fear. Since the RentBoy incident, every website in that part of the internet has been walking on eggshells....and that word sticks out like an atomic orange sign to LEOs. I COMPLETELY understand why you chose the word...since the reviews of your work do reflect the intent of that term....and for the record you are absolutely adorable.

On the whole, I am philosophically opposed to charging for something that should be given for free...but, I also will not judge anyone who capitalizes on an asset while it is still an asset worth having. That is just smart business...albeit with a finite shelf life.

If for some insane reason, you ever find yourself in central North Carolina, drop me a line...I'll cook a dinner for you that rivals any orgasm you've ever had....and you get to keep your clothes on...;)

Hi -

As we all find new avenues to find one another, I just this week sign up with M4RN and paid $600+ last week for a 6 month ad. This morning I changed one word in my ad... the word "Escort" I changed to "Courtesan"... A much classier word I've been told to believe...

They just terminated my account without warning, I can no longer log into my account and it looks like they will be stealing my money. I didn't even know the world "Courtesan" was a bad word. Seems pretty harsh to just close and account without any explanation or a warning or anything. Of course there is no contact number to call and they are not responding to my email requests.

So: Does anyone have a phone number I can call?

Can anyone recommend any recourse?

This does not bode well for this site. There is marketplace opportunity here for them and if this is the type of way they will be conducting business, then they will remain in the second tier of the online advertising business IMHO.

Any help?

Refer to yourself as you wish, but historically speaking ''courtesan' indicates a person of the female sex in relation to various roles and court functions. And in any case, in this day and age, the word is laughably pretentious. No malice whatsoever behind my comment. Glad you received a refund.

On that note...M4RN just removed all rates, so everyone will read "Contact for rates", which they claim will add "an additional opportunity to directly interact with more potential clients who might otherwise not have contacted you." Not sure if I agree with that but...

Just noticed that too. From this client's perspective, it's the wrong move. Gentlemen must tread carefully in the future while engaging in these delicate negotiations.

It's simply M4RN's latest CYA attempt! JMHO!
