[this is what happens when I let my brain wander on Sundays]

I finished home PT and I'm trying to get appointments made with my Physical Therapist and my Personal Trainer. At the moment, no one is talking to me. However, it made me reminisce about recent events.

I had a home Physical Therapist who was so taciturn ("How taciturn was he?") that I don't think I ever saw him crack a smile, and I try to be a light-hearted Lily. He spoke, but all of it was just business. A friend in the North Country (Gardner, MA for those of you keeping score) is the same way. I knew him for three years. I don't think I ever saw him smile, nor heard him laugh.

So what is with the Serious Men? Even the overgrown Army Medic who'd been blown up in Afghanistan had a sense of humour.

And, for you psychologists out there (you know who you are, or you think you are): Does this change things like longevity? People routinely guess my age fifteen years younger than I really am. I credit it to suing a cocoa-butter soap since 1978, but perhaps it's just my life attitude. I was hospitalized for almost 4 months (and out of work for six) five years ago, and people were surprised that it didn't "get" to me.

Just curious. It's nice to see so many SMILING and HAPPY people here!

I have a friend who never smiles when taking a picture. He is strikingly handsome. However, he will smile and laugh in person while having a conversation.

I think he thinks he doesn't look as handsome when he smiles. That or he doesn't like the way his teeth looks when he does. Humans can be so strange. :)
