I just tried accessing rentmen and am getting a default page stating that the domain was recently registered. Is rentmen down now too? I thought it was hosted in Europe?

I'm in NYC. Rentmen is behaving perfectly for me.

As James D posted in another topic list, rentmen may be experiencing a server overload with what amounts to a mad dash of escorts and or clients to the site. It's viewing may be intermittent for some.

I was having trouble getting onto rentmen, too. Then I tried with a different browser (Safari rather than Firefox) and it worked just fine. So I tried deleting my cookies in Firefox, as this usually solves any browser-specific issues. It did not. So I completely erased my browsing history (cache, cookies, etc.) and that did the trick.

I believe they have recently relocated their servers or rerouted their domain or some other technical mumbo jumbo (Scalia would say argle bargle), so deleting your browser's memory of where to look and making it start the search from scratch may solve the issue. Give it a shot.

All great suggestions. However, today, in spite of clearing cache, cookies, etc. I could not access the site. And so, I downloaded a highly recommended VPN (Virtual Private Network), and now, there will be no issues since I can bypass my ISP's proxies, which are definitely part of the problem, one way or the other.

I think it down and if your paying 9.99 for premium services email rentmen@rentmen

Rentmen is shooting themselves in the foot with those lame, canned responses and also in light of what's at stake for them. That said, I suggest downloading a well recommended VPN to your desktop, specific to PC or Mac.

It's not 'down.' It's just not accessible in certain areas of the country, via particular Internet Service Providers. I can now access the site completely because I am using a VPN. If the site were truly down, a VPN would not make any difference. As to e-mailing them, I've done so many times over the last two days. I found my own fix.

If your ISP is blocking traffic to Rentmen, how is that the fault of the administrators of the site? Shouldn't you be taking it up with your ISP?

FWIW - I have had no problems accessing the site either through my ISP or through a VPN.

I had a conversation with Rentmen since my previous post, and as I suspected, they have been performing site upgrades for the last three days -- and began those upgrades the day Rentboy was shut down. And they will continue to do so for the next week or so. Any alterations to a site can affect ISPs, proxies and servers downstream. It's common. The accessibility issue lies with them, not with local ISPs and their customers. As some here have commented -- some 'fixes' have worked, and for others, not. For me it's been hit or miss -- that is, until I downloaded an excellent VPN.
