San Juan PR

I need any advice you can provide please. I am thinking about going to San Juan PR for a week, staying at a Marriott in the Condado area. Is it safe, were there good gay clubs nearby, any strip clubs and was it easy getting around the area? I don’t speak Spanish will I have a hard time communicating, I have flown into San Juan to catch a cruise ship and found it somewhat difficult. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have been there a couple of times and really didn't have much trouble, even though I don't speak any Spanish to speak of. There are some gay bars near the beach and one gay bathhouse in "old town" Check out Gay Cities for more information. As with any large city, one has to be cautious and street smart. I never felt unsafe there, even though I walked alone at night, but never ventured off into areas that were not well populated or not well lit. I think you can have a great time there.
