Great picture and it's always great to remember those who serve.

 

But, this also brought back memories of how uncomfortable it is flying in a C-17. We actually had to wear ear plugs because the noise of the engines was so loud.

You are right... the C-17 is not much fun to fly in, especially on those very long flights.... But, one can endure a lot knowing it is homeward bound!!

During the Vietnam war, the army used charter flights with regular commercial planes. I remember stopping in Japan on the way to Vietnam and American Samoa on the way home. It's the flight there that is by far the worst even if you traveled in first class (probably very little chance of that).
