Whether you believe it's happening or not, sign the petition! I truly believe that we can make a difference by signing the MILLIONFORMARRIAGE petition that is now being circulated. While I persoally have NO plans for ever getting married again, gay marriage seems to be the last of the BIG, LEGAL(but unconstitutional) acts of governmental discrimination against gays out there. When we get the right to have same sex marriages, attitudes accross the nation and the world will change at a much faster rate.

 

In this election year, politicians are thinking hard on this very issue NOW, as are judges and more people than ever across the country. Even if you are a cynic and don't believe a strong gay showing will change things (it influenced the King of Cambodia, didn't it?), think of the damage a weak showing can do not only for those that are on the front lines actively pursuing gay issues for all of us, but in the thinking of politicians who could be using this as a barometer as to whether or not to take a stand.....and besides, what can it hurt :+

 

As I see the multitude of gay and lesbian marriages going on in California and now NM and hear Mayor Daly in Chi-town say what can it hurt, I can feel change in the air, like we are on the verge of a new era and we are witnessing the first wave. Even those here that are still completely closeted can at least sign the petition, but it'd sure be more helpful to sign+email it to 10 more people to keep the chain going.
