It's Miami so you'll get strangled, body thrown in Everglades, eaten by alligators or boa constrictors/pythons, left overs eaten by the fish, snails, snakes and that's it - it never happened and he's now in Mexico with your money lol

I see you've given this some thought.

Wow - the ultimate dolcett role play. Minimum $400/hr plus gas (Uber is discouraged). Hence the lack of (glowing) reviews. Not allot of repeat clients though.

...For grins I hotlist'ed an obvious scammer advertising on RB in Miami (even emailed him and asked if his pics were real- no response). In the 3 weeks since he's changed cities 3 times. ...

That's the extent of you evidence that this guy is an "obvious scammer"? He didn't respond to what some could construe as a "rude" question and he changed cities.

I don't know whether this guy is a scammer or not. There's really nothing about the ad that produces any red flags. But if a scammer is asked if his pictures are "real", I think he'd be inclined to respond that "yes, the pics are real and I look much better in person. When do you want to meet to find out for yourself." How can he swindle you if he can't get you to meet. If I'm an otherwise legitimate escort and I have busy travel schedule, and I get the question "are your pics real." I'd be disinclined to answer, because I might not take you seriously or my schedule is full. Now if I'm an escort and you approach me by saying: "Hi I'm interested in meeting you in the next few days. Would it be possible for you to send a current face pic while holding a piece of paper with the current date or could we have a very brief video chat. Just to confirm identity before we meet?" I've only needed to use that approach twice, but I got a response each time.

As for changing cities 3 times in 3 weeks; yes, scammers move around a lot. But so do legitimate escorts. Steven Draker has been in multiple cities from one side of the country to the other in the last month. I just looked at Tristan Baldwin's travel schedule and he'll be in 5 or 6 different cities in the next 2.5 weeks.

It is for you to decide who want to hire and what criteria you use to make that decision. But you can't just assume everyone is a scammer.

I understand your point and there's some additional context - this is piggybacking off another Miami thread where a couple of guys with pictures taken from ModelMayhem and elsewhere were used, along with some experiential info from other posters.

My emails were quite polite and of the nature "I am interested in a 2 hour incall appointment...are your posted pics current... etc".

If there's someone I'm interested in meeting (based on pics or their profile) I lean over backwards to find a way to make it work including getting myself in one sketchy situation with a BP guy so I err on the side of assuming posts are legit - trust but verify.

Sadly you really don't know who you're getting until you meet them live. If the guy is a current gay porn model the most likely he will be identical to his pics. I get super suspicious of guys with professionally taken pics otherwise

I have to say it makes me cringe every time I hear you guys discuss meeting people in this way. And it has nothing to do with business—but everything to do with safety, stings and other shit that has been well-documented.

Please be careful. And look at what happened to Madonna when she hooked up on Backpage.

Are you suggesting that there haven’t been scammers, thieves and even murderers that have advertised on sites such as Rentboy?

I think what is being suggested is that escorts don't like to see sitse like BP & CL come along, and that advertising is done for free.

They have invested too much in paid websites for their advertising. Comparison is cab drivers having a fit over Uber drivers, "You can't do that!"
