You might consider checking out Sauna Thermas. Most of the rentboys there will be happy to spend private time with you at your hotel or apartment. Some are gay and some gay-for-pay, but whatever -- you will have NO problem finding a dominant top. When I was there last fall, I met guys from Spain, Eastern Europe, Central America, Brazil and other places I don't even remember. is it located in a nice part of town? safe to be in the area at night? how far from the downtown area where all the fun is?

It's in the Eixample neighborhood which is considered a gay neighborhood. Regarding safety at night, there was always people walking on the sidewalks, plenty of traffic and I never once felt unsafe. The address is Carrer de la Diputació, 46. You can check the location and neighborhood on any number of online travel guides.

 

Safety issues at the sauna? You are assigned a locker with a key when you check-in so your valuables are locked away until you need them. I saw no risk of personal safety unless you drink too much and slip on a stairway or fall into the swimming pool. Regarding diseases, as far as I could tell, safe sex is the norm. Condoms are free. I thought the whole place was quite clean.

While walking downstairs, do watch your step, for the lighting is not that bright! Peruse the ads at www.gayromeo.com as another has mentioned. Gorgeous, gorgeous guys! Stay away from Daniel who's there. He was a complete dud, a total waste of Euros. [i loved Barcelona; the downside was my limited week's time!]

True, there's a lot of Brazilians at Thermas. Fortunately, I like Brazilian guys. I've been told that the number of Brazilians at Thermas depends on the season. During peak tourist season in Brazil (Dec - Apr) they're back home where the business is. When business is slow in Brazil, they come to Spain. I also agree that the Brazilian guys are not shy about approaching potential clients. My practice was to have the standard 4 to 5 minute conversation with guys I wasn't interested in (what's your name, where are you from, how long are you in the city, something about my home-town soccer team) and then politely thank him for the nice conversation and say I wasn't interested in any private time with him right then but I'd come and find him if I changed my mind. That's all it took and he moved on to the next client.

gayromeo website sucks, so that won't be any help for me, the sauna sounds like good place but it would still be nice to get some recommendations for real and well reviewed escorts in Barcelona that one can contact. I'm trying to make some contacts before I go since I will be there for just 1 week, so not much time to do thr research while there.
