He went expecting to have sex with a man. She went expecting to rob someone who wouldn't fight back. Both their expectations were wrong.

 

My takeaway has more to do with avoiding Craigslist and only seeing people with ads and websites, but that's just me. If he was looking for hookups or dates without money being exchanged, then maybe the advice to meet in public first makes sense, though in this case the hookup would probably have bailed entirely.
