That is indeed sad news Rick. I'm sure Diana will be devasted, as he is the father of her children. I hope she doesn't pull a teary-eyed eulogy ala Cher over Sonny! :(

Just the two boys.

I thought Cher's eulogy was heartfelt and real. You don't like when people express their emotions? :o

I didn't know that Diana Ross had sons, but are you sure that this guy didn't have some daughters with Diana?

Sorry if I offended anyone, but Cher's teary eyed eulogy over Sonny's death came across as sincere as a MacDonalds commercial. That of course, is just my observation and opinion. :(

That's what the scandal-crazed media tried to create but it was obvious that she was honestly shaken up. Say what you will about Cher but one thing she does not do is bullshit. That was no performance.

Lessee, Diana has what 3 daughters?

Rhonda Ross Kendrick (actress, probably best known for the Soap Opera "Another World") was born Rhonda Suzanne Silberstein and is the daughter of Supremes Producer Berry Gordy which Diana first publically acknowledged on OPRAH, I believe.

Tracee Ellis Ross, another actress currently starring in the sitcom "Girlfriends", was born Tracee Joy Silberstein and was fathered by Ross' first husband, music promoter Robert Ellis Silberstein.

The other daughter, Chudney, is also daughter of Silberstein. Think she is a model.

Sons Ross and Evan were fathered by Naess.

Rick,

I thought I was the biggest Ross fan left around...but you just might be bigger (fan that is!). Thanks for the info. Hard to predict Diana's long-term reaction...she will certainly feel not only for herself...but for her sons for a long time to come. Even her worst critics have always acknowledged she's been a great mom...so she will feel her son's tears deeply! They are at a bad age to lose their dad...not that there is a good age.

There is nothing disingenuous about Cher!

If you ever learn of a Ross performance anywhere in the country...please email me. I have tried several times over the past years...have held great seats...purchased airline tickets...and she has cancelled! I still won't give up!

Have a great day!

You must be a big fan of Ms. Ross. I appreciated the facts that you cited but did not like your using the word "lessee" to introduce your response to us. It distracted. Perhaps you did not intend to use it in a negative context! (Yes, I am sensitive!)

Just what we need around here, another schoolmarm. By the way, Axiom, you just told Charlie "I emphatize with you" in the Palm Springs thread. "It distracted."

I always thought their commercials were VERY sincere.

Rick,

Thanks for that good news! I've always wanted to go to Dublin. Anyone else?

I'm sure she'll do a US tour.

Thanks again, Rick.

You're welcome! By the way, I just read that the Dublin show is already sold out so they've added a second show for Sat. March 20.

I don't doubt her emotions, I just thought the tone of her eulogy was inappropriate given that the woman who was actually married to him at the time of his death was right there. It sounded like "me, me,me" -especially given Cher had trashed him with some regularity while he was alive.

But Mary Bono (his widow) was the one who insisted Cher do the eulogy after Cher, at first, said she couldn't. Most of their friends and family agree (am I the only one who watches VH-1 around here? :p ) that Sonny and Cher had an unusual relationship over the years, and that despite their mutual public "trashings," they never stopped loving each other deeply. I thought it was really sweet that she basically gave him credit for "creating" her. It was a nice tribute.

Good question...Rick might know. It's rumored that a single is due out in March, a duet with Westlife, but haven't heard what record label.

The word on the street ;-) is that she's been signed to J Records, home of Alicia Keys, Ruben Studdard, Luther Vandross, and Liza Minnelli.

Hey Rick,

It's your pal from Oklahoma...very sorry to hear about Miss Ross's latest tragedy. Guess that does prove, though, once and for all, that "ain't no mountain high enough" isn't really the truth.....
