Germanwings pilot tells passengers 'I will get you home safe' in emotional speech days after crash.

A Germanwings passenger took to Facebook to share an emotional speech given by a pilot yesterday - reassuring those on board that he would get them home safe.

Britta Englisch boarded the airline's flight two days after murder-suicide co-pilot Andreas Lubitz deliberately crashed a plane into the French Alps, killing 150 with no surviviors.

Later that day it emerged that Germanwings were being forced to cancel flights after their staff refused to fly for "personal reasons".

‘(The speech was) about how he and the crew had been affected by the tragedy,’ she wrote.

‘About how the crew feel strange as well, but all of them were there voluntarily.’

‘And about how he has a family too, the crew have families too, and that he will do anything to make sure he will arrive back with them in the evening.’

Englisch said everyone was quiet during the speech and applauded at the end.

She added: ‘I would like to thank this captain. For understanding what we all thought. And for making me feel good about the flight.’
