The Worthington and it's sister properties Alcazar and Villa Venice are your best bet. That the three properties are combined gives you the best chances of finding folk down there whom you want to socialize with. The rooms are simple and clean and the staff is pleasant. You'll most likely need a car, btw.

Thanks Kev... I am planning on a car as I will be hitting up Swinging Richards, Floppy Rooster, Boardwalk, and maybe... if I can get up the nerve, Club Ft Lauderdale.

Club Ft Lauderdale is a lot of fun! It neither reeks of stank & poppers nor Pine-Sol, the extremes into which other clubs seem to fall. There's a steam room, sauna, and outdoor pool & jacuzzi. Go.

Took a tour of Pineapple Point last time I was in town. BEAUTIFUL property. Gorgeous rooms. Hopefully our tour guide Cheney still works there. All I can say is ... WOW

I agree with Kevin - the Worthington is great! It gives you three resorts in one. Over the years, they have bought the other two resorts adjoining them and one is able to wander from resort to resort within the complex. So you have three different pools and three different venues. The Grand Resort is right next to them and it is nice as well.

Pineapple Point looks awesome but out of my price range. Maybe I'll check it out in case I ever win the lottery. In the meantime I made a reservation in at The Worthington. Still on the fence about the whole bathhouse thing. I'll see when I get to Florida... Any thoughts on best/worst times to go to Club Ft Lauderdale?

Indeed Pineapple Point is a little pricey, so enjoy the Worthington, it's a good choice, however, if you have a free afternoon, especially on the weekend, the poolside bar at the Royal Palm Spa and Resort, just down the street in North Beach is not to be missed. On Sunday, they have their traditional "Sunday Funday"...DJ, good food, excellent drinks and lots of eye candy by the pool, and Brian the bartender will treat you like family.
