Dallas a good idea to visit?

If I take a trip to Dallas, will I be likely to meet one or two clients who can help me pay my way? In other words, is there a market for boys like me there?

Ryan, I think you'll meet a lot more than one or two clients. I just worked there and found it fun and profitable, and this was only running ads in Rentboy and in my travel ad on Men4RentNow.com (and of course posting on HooBoy). The dates were awkward -- near the holidays -- and I think I'll do even better if I come back at a normal time. You can also run print ads in The Texas Triangle or...I forget the other one, Q-something if you want to cover all the bases. They don't seem to have a ton of escorts here but there is definitely a sizeable gay population and a real interest in working boys. Plus, maybe it's just a perception, but people do seem to have money in Dallas! It shows up in how they dress, the cars they drive, the types of hotels they mention staying in when they travel, etc. -- at least with most of the clients I met it did. Though the average rates on in calls seem to be lower than mine no one seemed to have a problem with my fee. I know we're not exactly the same type, but if anything I'd think you'd do better than me there. Especially if you time your trip to go there when Jason's out of town...

 

Furthermore, it's not a huge financial risk; I stayed at a perfectly nice Hyatt Regency downtown and got it for $40 on Priceline. (Check out http://biddingfortravel.com to see what different hotels in different parts of town are going for.) You will most likely want a car unless you're holed up at your hotel doing in calls the whole time you're there, in which case you could probably get by with using taxis when you go out. I did get to see the gay neighborhood but not explore it. It's cute. I definitely want to come back and see more of the city. Hope this helps. :-)

Thanks Devon, Let me just say I can't imagine "staying in my hotel and doing incalls" constantly. I advertise on here regularly, but I don't see clients that regularly. Sometimes when I go to a city and advertise I don't even accept ANY clients. Seeing many clients is NOT MY STYLE AT ALL.

 

Anyway, so staying downtown makes sense and is where I should stay?
