Before the internet and The Patriot Act, before electronic data storage and the brass band of social media, there was this cool thing called privacy. Remember that? If you’ve been worried about losing it, you might want to know the latest: Your TV may be spying on you

… I’ll just quote the last line of the piece here: Artificial intelligence is an increasingly hot topic, with high-profile technophiles such as Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking and Bill Gates warning about the unintended consequences of unchecked smart technology.

Your laptop could be turned on by Big Brother to watch what you're up to.

A good reason to keep my "dumb" TV...

Seriously there is absolutely no privacy. I am licensed by the state to do my job. I just recently found out that over a year ago someone was able to find all my credentials on the Internet and was then able to forge a document with the appropriate information. I did not learn that this had occurred until a few weeks ago. Incidentally the document was submitted to a Federal agency. The authorization was only good for a twelve month period so it is now a mute point and accordingly no action will be taken. Still It's quite scary that someone was able to impersonate my identity as it took me less than 15 seconds to glean all the info needed... and using "dumb" technology. Too scary!

Where will it end?!? Actually this is only the beginning. As I said... scary!

Fortunately there was no link to my "whipped guy" persona...
