Hey there guys. I need some help here figuring something out. I am going to be in LA and have booked a room at the Argyl hotel. I haven't stayed there before but it looked nice on the hotels website. Is it close to the bars and clubs in West Hollywood? Keep in mind I do not drive while in LA (it's a sanity issue for me). Well I hope all are having a festive Christmas day and all that seasonal stuff.

Hugs,

Greg

I have stayed at the hotel, it's a great place to enjoy W. Hollywood.

Bette Davis and other stars lived there when it was an apartment building. The rooms are fairly small, but there is a roof top restaurant and pool. The location is perfect. You can get to most clubs and bars from the hotel.

I just spend a week in LA and can not image not having a car. Doesn't that severly limit what you can do and see? If you do rent a car, I highly recommend Inn of the Seventh Ray in Topanga Canyon in Malibu.

The food is good, the outdoor setting even better.

Have stayed at the Argyle before and found it to be ok - nothing to write home about/nothing to complain about. Location is good for the WEHO scene. Enjoy!

Comfortable Shoes

I like the Sunset Strip hotels but then I prefer to be near but not IN the cross hairs of the West Hollywood bar scene.

You are definitely within walking distance of the Santa Monica bar scene, albeit you are up hill. It is also an inexpensive cab ride from the area. However, a cab ride, due to traffic, could actually take you longer than a walk.

well, actually . . . it depends . . .

RE: Comfortable Shoes

Hey guys, when requiring about hotels in LA, NYC, and SF-- why not check the archives first before posting? Many suggestions have already been made over the years if not just within the last year.

I am not trying to inhibit your writing and inquiries, I'd like to see hotel references in one thread or at least new questions asked before posting the same ol same ol; yea, I know I don't have to read these!:-) :-)

RE: Comfortable Shoes

Thanks for the info. I actually hate driving and have given it up now for about 3 years and my stress level has decreased and my vocabulary has cleaned up quite nicely less of the four letter colorful words in English, French or Spanish....LOL. I have friends and family that shuttle me around if I want to go somewhere that is a distance from the city. I usually hang around the westside, downtown or my dads neck of the woods the eastside. And besides it's cheap entertainment taking the metros. Don't believe me try it sometime :-) And you might beable to take in a good book or nap. Well I am off gotta fix some dinner and do some more unpacking.

Hugs,

Greg
