Despite Les' posting of pics of Yves Carradine from Belami, I would still say that Belami is in major decline and has been for a couple of years now. George Duroy seems unable to put together a good film. He let Marty Stevens do those dozen 101 Men videos and then the Personal Trainer videos, all of which were cheap re-runs of casting couches and required no creativity or thinking at all.

I just rented his latest film, "Just for Fun." Big disappointment. George keeps making major mistakes. First, he thinks by running it long, it is good. Sorry, just boring. After doing casting couches with more than 600 cute guys, this film makes use of 7 old and rather tired guys, who have all appeared in previous videos, in the first three scenes, all of which look like they are left over from his first films on the farm: same locale, same poses, same action. Not a single new guy. Sebastian Bonnet? Again? Still? He must be old enough to have kids this old by now. At least we were spared Dano Sulik. Jason Paradis gets fucked by five different guys! Jason is cute and his father is chief of police in Prague or something, but I do like a little variety in my fuckees. Even Jason begins to look bored with yet another cock up his ass. It looks like one of those el cheapo Czech videos where 14 guys fuck one guy on a table. Interesting? Not at all. Where are all the other beautiful bottoms waiting to be hired and photographed? It was nice to see Timmy Hamilton get a chance to top, and Jeff Daniels shines as a bottom who enjoys it in many positions, but Sebastian Bonnet is simply tiresome as the fucker. And what's with the horsing around? George films more and more of this as part of his films. As an old man, he may find this fun and interesting to shoot, but it is just tiring for the rest of us.

And then second major mistake. George continues to think "orgies" are fun to watch and the more guys you have the better. Each of his most recent films ends with an orgy and in print media he is often quoted about how difficult it is to shoot these and therefore he is a great director. He has lost contact with reality. So scene No. 4 is an "orgy" with fifteen guys or so. He uses his heavy orange filter as usual, so it looks like a bunch of butterscotch running loose, and then he flicks from body part to body part faster than you can say Julian Armanis, so you never get a chance to enjoy anything or recognize anybody. He apparently shot lots more scenes for the video and chose not to use them. You can see snippets in the interminable opening credits and again at the end. Boring, boring, boring. Fast forward is the only way to go.

George has now been repeating himself for a number of years. The new DVDs issued by Belami are all compilations of old "never before seen" scenes with old videos.

Does anyone know? Is he seriously ill? Is he still alive? Has he gone senile? Does he have Alzheimer's? Watching Sebastian Bonnet shoot one more casting couch and horse around one more time is enough to make one run screaming from the room. Pity, George once was quite good.

I don't agree with everything you said, but in general you are right that Belami has gone downhill. They also seem to be hiring models with a different look from the original guys. A lot of the original guys, now in their upper 20s, are involved in production. As for the DVDs, many of them are a mix of the original VHS tape combined with scenes from another tape, or scenes never shown before. For example, one of the Frisky Summer DVDs has two scenes from the Cherries tape and a third scene from another tape. They have certainly made what's on each DVD very confusing. You have to go to the Belami site and read the descriptions of each scene in order to compare it with the original tape. Oh for the days of Frisky Summer, the Lucas series, and most of the Falcon International series (Accidental Lovers, Sauna Paradisio, The Plowboys etc.). These were Duroy's best.

I also let my subscription to their website lapse. I wasn't sure why... but after reading your post, I think I agree that it is because there has been nothing fresh for a while.

Josh Elliot is cute, but they really haven't used him well. And Jason Paradis is cute, but as you say, they use him over and over and over, and doing the same thing.

Oh for the days of Marcel Bouvier, Flings, and BOTTOM boy Sebastian!
