I agree that $300 per Diem above a $300 hourly rate is a lot of money, but unless he is being booked for an overnight he would have to rent a hotel room and pay for meals, possibly a rental car. Suddenly, the $300 per diem is not so outrageous. However, if I lived in Vegas and simply HAD to have him I would fly to LA, rent myself a hotel room, hire him for a couple of hours and spend the rest of the time seeing the city. and call it a weekend.
