Niether bad acting or flaky. I rather liked it when I saw it. It came across as very sincere, if anything can really be sincere in politics these days. Taking it at face value, I think it works.

definitely a sincere and honest ad, I presume.....according to her wiki article linked above, she's a Republican running again in a gerrymandered NY district against a guy she lost her seat to in 2012.....don't think this ad will hurt her since a NY Republican would probably seem sorta left-leaning anywhere else!!....(jk).....kudos to her for this honest commercial

She is a Republican running against an out gay man and has an extremely problematic voting record on several issues, including same sex marriage. I appreciate her love for her son, but little else.

I'm with nynakedtop on this one. Nan Hayworth, is a mother who loves her gay son. Shouldn't ANY mother love her son, gay or straight? What's the big deal? Does she expect us to vote for her because she loves her son? Is she saying that she should get votes for loving him, EVEN THOUGH he's gay? Dick Cheney loves his gay daughter, but would you vote for him? (DID you? I bet not!)

Anyway, Dr. Hayworth is a Tea Party conservative, and I would not vote for her for that reason; I don't care about her family life. Don't let a touch-feely ad cause you to forget what you believe in. If you support the Tea Party, fine. If not, don't be bamboozled by her ad.
