My job takes me all over the country, usually for 6 - 10 month stints. It looks like I will be spending the next half year in Albuquerque. My first two weeks here have been a bit dull. Does anyone have any recommendations?

(Innocent) things to do or see in ABQ

My information is unquestionably dated - being born and raised there, but having moved away to go to college and only

infrequently returning.

During the summer, take the tram up the face of sandia mountain. (During the winter there are too many skiers).

The university of new mexico has some interesting museums, especially the geology department.

Santa Fe opera is worth the drive. While going up, check out the palace of the governors in Santa Fe as well,

and there's a very small church near that town square that date from the mid-late 1600s

Old town in ABQ is a bit kitschy but you can find some genuine (and nice) local crafts there.
