Hey Guys, I'm thinking of doing a work trip to Tokyo this summer. I've taken a couple years of Japanese language courses and spent some time in Japan several years back. I'm thinking of staying somewhere in the Shinjuku bar district, near the gayborhood, Ni-chome. Anyone have experience working/hiring in Japan? On what sites would you recommend advertising? Hotel recommendations? Thoughts on depositing foreign currency into a US bank account with minimal transaction fees? Other thoughts/suggestions? Thanks!

I've stayed in Ginza, which is the nice and trendy shopping and entertaining district.

Mind that Tokyo is an extremely large and spread out city and you'll need up to 5 hours to cross the city from one end to the other. Also Tokyo has one of the most complicated metro underground systems that is managed by three different companies at the same time. This to tell you that location is paramount.

I advertised on GayRomeo, Rentboy and a couple of others sites. I was told by locals that there are other websites, however they're only in Japanese language. The majority of my clients have been traveling abroad and knew about GayRomeo and Rentboy from their international trips.

It's worth noting that prostitution is illegal in Japan. However, the definition of prostitution is strictly limited to coitus.

This means sale of numerous acts such as oral sex, mammary intercourse and other non-coital sex acts are legal (joining in a way Bill Clinton's interpretation of sex from 1998). ;)
