Duplicate Ads for the Same City

Hey! I'm noticing more and more escorts that run multiple ads on the same site for the same city! For example:

http://www.rentboy.com/Listing.aspx?lid=335365&scid=120179411&sp=1&pos=6&locid=1399&iid=175488&type=escort

 

These two ads are listed on RB for Houston - no special search parameters. Now, I understand marketing and the importance of advertising to your intended target audience. But, is it really necessary to run multiple ads? Can't you construct one ad that includes all desired audiences? Am I missing something? (Not to single out this gentleman, there are others I have noticed.)

I don't know this particular situation, but sometimes a travel ad overlaps. (I currently have two in vegas cuz of this)

 

It looks like he travels a lot, so he might have one for travel, one for home base. When there aren't any travel plans, you put them in the same town and maybe catch an eye you didn't catch the first scroll!
