He's in DC. Look at Rentboy et al.

Actually, I was talking about his posts. He used to contribute a lot, a LOT, but now, not so much.

While I don't claim to speak for him, I think I remember him telling me that there was too much drama on here (my paparaphrasing). When you think about it, the more you post on here the more likely it is that you are going to say something someone disagrees with leading to a possible backlash and bad reputation/decreased clients.

As I indicated on the thread asking why RGM no longer posted here, I got the same basic answer as Gman when I asked Romann about it. Oh, and BTW, he is visiting DC right now according to the calendar on his website. He has not moved away from his home base of Chicago.

Besides the risk of offending potential clients I wonder if something else is at work. Just like print advertising maybe the use of a forum to attract new clients is no longer worth the time and effort. In just the last few years adam4adam, backpage, scruff and a bunch of other avenues for connecting with clients have appeared and seem to be very popular. If an escort has to invest a lot of effort in staying current with the forum while seeing less and less return on their investment just like any other business they'll spend their time and resources elsewhere. I have absolutely no data to back this up with, but just a feeling based on other discussions here about where clients are finding escorts and where escorts are getting new clients.

Why do you think that everything an escort do is oriented to gain profit and attract customers here?

Not everything Steven, but there are two reasons to be on this forum. (1) To exchange ideas, which lately has become more and more of a pain with people just snapping at each other and (2) for escorts to learn about clients and vice versa. Especially for younger escorts the fear of being jumped over and ridiculed and/or insulted just makes it not worthwhile any more. Maybe you have such an established client base that you don't worry about your financial security but that's not the case for a lot of younger guys.

keep in mind that there is a group of escorts who don't want business from this board. not their 'target'

from the stories ive been told, what we do here now is nothing compared to years back. it's a barbie dream house now compared with when hoo boy was alive

I first met Romann in October '10 and we have communicated on a regular basis ever since. He was the one that TOLD me to join the Forum ( which has been a joy for the most part ). I saw him at some of the social events in Palm Springs and he's doing fine. Very busy with his personal and professional life and pretty much stopped posting a couple of years ago. I believe that his feeling was that there was too much "non-essential" postings happening and he had too much going on to be a part of them. He has absolutely no hard feelings about the Forum, but had to prioritize his life.

He is doing great and still has all the qualities he always had :-)

I am going to have to cancel out this post and ask those interested to contact Romann directly for his current status

Probably better to ask the moderator to delete it. Otherwise, it's like a bell that rings.

(Since I commented on the thread, I would add that I like Romann a lot and hope he is well.)

sounds like someone over shared and got his hand slapped

Indeed. I was recently with some one who found out that I'd read his reviews here, and he semi-jokingly said "you're not one of THOSE guys, are you?"

Is that good or bad?

Very True! It has long been a policy for alot of "Working Guys".."It's better to be SEEN ($$) than heard"

JT has always agreed with that....I wish Hunky Roman the Best wherever he is "Working It"!

The implication was that read daddys and knew about the flame wars and other wackiness, so I'd say he hoping I was normal.

reading reviews here is always a good idea but those who post multiple times a day, near obsessively, is unhealthy I'd rekon

the message board is not the place for a smart escort looking to find his success

I was not on drugs when I typed the above, fat fingers. Trying again.

Participation here is a good way for someone to help establish themselves and draw some initial clients/reviews. Over the long run, there needs to be something more to sustain participation and flame wars probably do a lot to curtail it.

Romann isn't posting at this time. If he wanted to, he would. Everything here is speculation so why not just leave the man to his own peace.

And close the thread?
