With all due respect Flower, I've been coming here for 1 year this month and I do believe you may have been a regular longer than me, so I am not going to diss any regular poster by naming names.

As such I'm sure you recall the odious post about banning ad rian based on his comments about the shuttle disaster earlier this year.

And what about FFF and all the calls for his head and banishment and the censorship he had to endure from the moderators? I don't see him posting here anymore, and although we disagree, I liked FFF one helluva lot as I thought he helped keep it real and I absolutely loved his repartee and take on things, as no one on this board has ever come close to his wit and pure entertainment. IMO, I consider the loss of his posts to be a real downside.

And most recently, jamesk840? comments about losing the shits who post here. As if calling another human being a shit is even remotely valid, and all because he prefers to turn an open forum into a discussion of what he prefers to discuss (one more feel good nauseating post about the Hooville LA gatherings and I would probably puke except that I no longer read them as they have NO INTEREST to me, so why can't he understand that if he in turn is not interested in a topic he can just skip it?).

Well I apologize, if my comments offend anyone, but it seems that anytime anyone wants to post an opinion contrary to the majority opinion that person is totally dissed on everything he posts, just because it was he who posted it and not based on the content of his post. I like these posters the best and have no qualms in stating that because even though I have had disagreements with their points, I respect their right to their opinions and I like their tenacity in continuing to post and in asserting their rights to state their opinions. This is why I always read posts by woodlawn, FFF, Doug69 and ad rian/axe, as I know I am going to read something worth reading.

You put your finger so perfectly on such an interesting point, Hawk. If you look at the people who clamor most loudly for "moving posts" or who complain most loudly about the "uncivil" contributions of others, you will find that, almost without exception, the things they write are so boring, so devoid of substance, so cliched, that you literally forget what you read 2 seconds after you read it.

Such individuals come to this forum for no purpose other than to exchange sickeningly sweet, gooey happy faces with each other - when you find yourself in the middle of their "discussions," you feel like you've fallen into a playground filled with third-grade girls with ponytails who love to draw hearts on each other's notebooks and talk about nothing other than their favorite color and who the "cute boys" are. It's not even possible to get angry or disgusted at - it's just so mind-numblingly dull that you just want fall asleep or puke from the girlish sugar they spittle up.

Who could ever imagine caring enough to seek to have them banned or to start threads proclaiming their spittle to be a problem - the way that they do about the contributors here who weigh so heavily on their mind that they can't stop thinking and talking about them?

They think that cooing at each other about wonderful - just wonderful - little social meetings they arrange offline or plastering happy faces at 19 year-old escorts is some sort of precious, unqiuely valuable dialogue that shouldn't be disrupted by anyone who isn't interested in such things, and that their invaluable chatter must, at all costs, be protected by the Authorities against those who don't come here like they do to chirp like soft, nice little birdies.

One would think that those here who relentlessly complain about the contributions of others would have something worthwhile to contribute, and yet one would be wrong. That's the real source of their anger - they have nothing to say; what they do say prompts no reaction other than deadly boredom, and so they are bitter and jealous of those with something to say.

That's why it's not good enough for them to just ignore what they don't want to read - as others do of their happy face posts. They have to try to suppress it and ban it and pray for its disappearance because the presence of those who don't join in their vapid cooing reminds them too painfully of how vapid and empty they are.
