"Good evening!" from Bali, Gentlemen -

I'm a few weeks into one last stretch of vagabonding before - at long last - "settling down" in Manhattan in mid-August, and thought I'd touch base before I touch down somewhere with unreliable Internet access.

It's been pointed out that I've become a sort of mystery man on Daddy's Reviews, and many question if I actually exist (?). I hope this message serves to confirm that I am not only a legitimate human being (just one who has been more-or-less intercontinentally on-the-road for the past five-plus years, so hasn't been so easily pinned down - unless an appointment was made, of course), but that my reviews are legitimate as well. (Also, I don't fully understand how forums work - give me time - and accept an advance apology if I'm posting this in the wrong place.)

A bit about the path I've been on: After obtaining three yet-to-be-used liberal arts degrees (2000-04), I spent over four years in sexuality education/counseling/HIV testing (social services, in short) in my home state of Michigan (2004-08) before serving one life-changing year volunteer teaching in remote northern Namibia (2009). I officially burned out on social work in a homeless shelter for volatile (sometimes homicidal) teens in a rough area of the Windy City (2010), so - through a few so-called twists of fate - went on to develop myself (and thrive!) as an erotic masseur in the heart of Madrid (2010-12) before going on to escort across borders - from Lisbon to Paris to Zurich to... (2012) - and then taking my sensual show on the road stateside, a total of four months in a chosen 18-month period in Chicago and a collective four months in New York City, while spending a healthy surplus of time reconnecting with old friends - simultaneously experiencing my homeland with a fresh perspective (from boating the Everglades to downing whiskey with the gays on Amy Grant's farm outside of Nashville to hiking the Grand Canyon after checking out the scene/getting mine scoped out on the sidewalks of West Hollywood to...) (2012-14). Back to visit former students and villagers in sub-Saharan Africa. Then reunite with once-clients and loved ones in Mediterranean Europe. Peace out in South Asia (2013-14). And I just had to return to this dynamic section of the globe for a few months before finding steady ground beneath my feet. That's all. An unconventional way of going about things - though one that is authentic, and - I admit - rather privileged, and - I imagine - hard to believe. However, I'll be geographically dependable in a matter of three months and a week when I start an altogether new chapter in the "Capital of the World". Then, I'll gladly let you pin me down - or vice-versa.

So, I have heaps of stories to share, a wealth of (mis)adventures to process, and am beyond thrilled that I'm about to have a daily routine... a barista or two who know my name... and the ability to readily cultivate a small, inspired tribe. It's been said that the deepest need a person has is to be rooted. Well, sign me up. But, if you'll excuse me - with some of your help (thanks!), we've just ensured that two rural schools in Nepal have running water, functioning toilets, dry erase boards, dictionaries, and wireless (success!)... I trekked my first mountain range (a cake walk!)... discovered the repressed eroticism in the massage rooms behind Pokhara's barber shops (two pent-up brothers in one day - one in my mouth, one in my ass - god, it was hot!)... and now I've got to bounce from a bougie Balinese stint to crash in a cramped gay brothel in Bangkok before volunteering in Myanmar (?) or kicking it in Cambodia (?) or perhaps instigating a love affair in Laos (!...?).

That all being stated, aside from serving as an explanation, let me include some legitimate redeeming value to this note. Something I'm still learning, and want urgently for us all in a time when our lives all-too-often become frenzied and locked in: I encourage us all to leave room for flexibility and an uncultivated plan B or C or D... Our most valuable commodity - in life - is time. Fill the space of life as meaningfully as you can. Simplify, and create the space. Minimize, and cut the clutter. (That bit of truth being offered after such a wordy note.) Life is now. Not the day we're "saving up" for. Now.

And if you have any contacts in Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, or Nepal - do share.

That's all... for now.

Simply,

Adam

PS - I have a photo of myself north of Ubud with my autographed cap from Daddy on, but cannot figure out how to attach it on here from my computer. Yeah. Give me time...

Very interesting post, Adam. Thank you. As for posting pictures, unfortunately to (I'm assuming) prevent viruses from infecting the Forum and possibly for other logistical reasons as well, you can't upload pictures directly from your computer. You can post/include links from pictures hosted on the web. So while there may be easier ways, the only way I've figured out to post a personal picture is to upload a picture to a service like Dropbox, and then put the link in a Forum Post.

Thanks, guys! And, thanks to Gman, here is my attempt at technological savvy (a photo of me - blissed out, Balinese-style - with my coveted autographed Daddy cap should be below, along with a couple from my previous excursion in Nepal). :)

I think the idea is to avoid copyright issues. If the photo isn't on storage media on Daddy's servers, there's no violation of copyright.

Well, so much for savvy. You are welcome to email me (adam@simplyadam.com) for photos from the more personal collection. I'm off to play...

My fault Adam. What I neglected to say was that the Image Function on here doesn't work with Dropbox. The URL's have to be 'jpg', 'gifs', or something similar. The best you can do is list the links. And here they are-
