Why do people post fake ads?

There are constant threads/comments about fake ads. Perhaps I'm overthinking this, but I can't really understand why anyone would go to the time and trouble to do that.

 

Do they ask for money in advance based on the fake photos and then never show? Are there so many people that, despite having been deceived, simply say "oh well, it's a cock and I'm here and horny"?

Many reasons:

1. Getting revenge on an ex-lover (Well, I'm not good enough to fuck, let's trash his email account/phone line with old farts looking to get fucked.)
   
2. Trashing the lover of a guy you want to catch on the rebound.
   
3. Testing the water, figuring out how all the RentAGuy sites work.
   
4. Outting a closeted gay man by generating lots of email traffic and phone calls to him.
