Worm from My Address

Just contained a virus from my Lycos mail...someone has been sending out unsolicited emails headed, "RE: Thank You" from my Lycos address. If you've received this, delete it without opening it. I didn't send it.

Just to let folks know that Lycos has been down for a couple of days & should be back up Fri. morning. I'll answer emails ASAP. I think Hotmail & MSN have been having problems as well.

Many of the current email viruses attempt forgery on which computer is actually

sending the virus, picking some random email address from a web page or

a person's address book, to claim as the sender's address.

 

My work email appears on some 400 web pages, and you can imagine the

number of warnings I get every time a new variant of the Sobig or Klez virus

gets released . . .

This might be one of the computer worms going about. It isn't off your PC; it is off of someone else's which had your email address on it.

 

Had this happen a month ago to me. Was getting bounced email which I never sent back for about 2 weeks. Couldn't figure out what was going on at first.
