Well, the first sentence of his Wikipedia entry states : Dustin Lance Black (born June 10, 1974) is an American screenwriter, director, film and television producer, and LGBT rights activist.

The entry later lists a number of movies he's directed.

Lance is a writer and was graduated from the high school where I taught English. He returned to the school after he'd won the Oscar and mentioned to a colleague of mine the conversation that he and I had. ...don't remember but would like to see him as an adult and discuss his writings!
