Sketchy photos: Marcus Sobe, NYC

I've called out this character before... The ad's photos are of model and actor Michael Bergin, who was born in '69.

Yet, the advertiser, Marcus Sobe, states he is 30. I texted him, letting him know I easily traced the photos to Michael Bergin. His reply?

"LOL."

Yeah, I reverse image searched those pics as well, and if it wasn't enough that it was Michael Bergin, then 'Marcus' went on to say he's latin, and modeled for 4 years, which is so not Bergin (well aside from the age and a host of other things). The hopeful, horny part of me would think, well, maybe he looks enough like him that the photos could pass with those stats. The more practical part of me thinks, he lied about his pics, he'll lie about everything else.

True enough...he was my neighbor in SoCal. Extremely nice man and family. He lived fairly well, but definitely was not buried in cash. He's done a few things, but acting gigs were not like Baywatch. He is about as straight as they come. Not a chance in Hell he is escorting.

The practical part of you is correct. Stolen pics = untrustworthy. Period. Hustlers have always existed and always will, but their use of stolen photos to intentionally mislead clients has mushroomed in the last few years. Playing pic detective is now part of a client's screening process. And having this Forum to warn others is great.
