I went this afternoon to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt's new film. It is literally his film - he not only stars, but also wrote the script and directed. And it the entire thing is his idea, beautifully realized. Amazing that it's the first film he's written and directed. The idea is a very studly guy (Gordon-Levitt) who enjoys jerking off to porn more than he enjoys actual sex. (He's very heterosexual, by the way, in the film and in life, even though his first starring role was portraying a teenage gay hustler.) The entire thing is massively entertaining.

Some guys who enjoy this site may be put off by all the female tits and ass on display, but Gordon-Levitt's own bodacious bod gets a lot of display, too, and he is seriously built! But that's not the main point. It's that the film is so entertaining - you end up really feeling for this guy.

And he does a total number on the Catholic Church and the rite of confession. Some of the funniest scenes in the film.

I completely agree with uwsman2. This movie is very entertaining with a great edge of humor. Mr. Gordon-Levitt seems to be in the best physical shape for this film he has ever been. Some of the family dinner table scenes had echoes for me of the family dinner table scenes in Saturday Night Fever, Italian family and all that! He wrote a running joke about his main character’s sister that was quite funny with a payoff near the end of the film. I knew Joe G-L was a talented actor but here he shows just how far his talents in the industry reach and more.

I hope he continues to act so I can see his gorgeous self but he could certainly make a career move into full-time screen writer/director with no problem if this film is any indication. A slight spoiler: he has his shirt off quite a bit in this movie (and he has an amazing chest and back) but although the sex scenes are very suggestive (including his many jack-offs with porn) he never has any shots with full nudity back or front. He has been quoted as saying he found no situation in this script for which he felt nudity was required to move the plot forward. Oh well. Sigh! :(
