Mud

Got to see this film this afternoon. Every review mention I've seen of it has been positive, but it's more of a small-scale independent film so it hasn't been promoted as much as the big Hollywood blockbusters of the season (like Gatsby, Star Trek, Ironman). Matthew McConnaughy is keeping up his muscle work, to judge by the shirtless scenes towards the end of the movie - incredibly hot man. The story itself starts off a bit slowly, but by the time all cylinders start firing it is really engrossing and worth the effort to see.

I agree. "Mud," enjoying less advertising than the big studio movies, is a sleeper. Excellent movie with excellent performances. (Where do they find these child actors? God bless 'em!) I think that Matthew is trying to show that he's a real actor, and not just a pretty face, as in "Mad Mike," and he succeeds. I recommend "Mud" to everyone.
