?...it had promising moments, but each episode left me with more frustrations than anything else. For the most part, Shaiman and Wittman's witty songs kept the show afloat...

Their songs were the best part of season one. I made a DVD and CD of just their numbers.

The problem was when they started bringing in sub-plots to appeal to the non-theatre masses. Got to make a buck, I guess. I watched exactly two episodes of season two and then removed it from the DVR lineup. Pity!

I didn't mind the sub-plots per se, it was the bad writing in general. The way a lot of the stories were handled (Messing's drug-addicted son, for instance) felt more like one of those campy Lifetime movies.

In general, I liked the songs written for Bombshell itself - I wasn't as fond of the "music video" moments that involved the characters themselves (what was that really odd "bollywood" fantasy sequence involving McPhee's boyfriend? Weird...), though I understand why they'd want to include more songs than just the "show" numbers.

Good Bye SMASH

Despite everything, I shall be sorry that SMASH ends its run on Sunday. Yes, there were many soap opera moments, bad acting, plot lines that did not make sense (still not sure why Julia was so upset that "Hit List" did go on the night of Kyle's death.) But, I have not seen a Broadway show since Dec., so got a mild Broadway-fix through SMASH. I do hope the second season is released on DVD, so I can finally understand the plot of "Hit List," which is available on the Internet (just need to connect the songs to the plot).

Little Shop Of Horrors is full of incredibly memorable songs. I think you need to start taking ginkgo, and using your ears more.

As a musician, I work with these supposedly "unmemorable" songs all the time, and have no problem remembering every note, every chord change, every lyric. I don't know why you can't. I feel sorry that you're so closed-minded about music. And since we're never going to agree on this, I'm not engaging in this conversation with you any more. So whatever you have for a snarky comeback, save it for yourself. Good night.

LOL. Enjoy your toys in your bedroom!
