Looking At Craig's List-I Just Don't Think So

I keep thinking about the thread from a few weeks ago of the poster(s) who reported making spectacular finds on Craig's List. It seems so tempting. But I guess I just don't have the temperament for it. When I'm in the mood to hire. I'm pretty much in the mood. I don't want to have to play around with guys who don't post pictures, you can only reach initially by email ( occasionally I will contact email only ads on the escort sites but usually only if I'm fairly sure the guy is on the up and up or has a good reputation), or want me to send my picture. I guess I just don't have the proper attitude of being on a safari and finding a hidden gem. But for me, the usual escort sites have more of an appeal for simplicity and a much better track record.

I have met one guy off Craigslist. It has been a very good find for me. I was direct, asked for a photo in first email, stated my expectations in second email, and gave him my address in 3rd email. He was at my door 30 minutes later. It can work but you just have to know how to conduct business to your liking. If you want a phone number to call him ask for one. If you are scared the photo won't match him tell him if he doesn't look like his photo the session will not go forward and he will not be paid for anything.

How do you know if a Craigslist ad is really an escort ad? Are there any "code" words or other indication that the guy is available for pay?

The code words change from day to day and person to person. Some say generous, gen, assistance, help, financial needs, needy, etc.

The best strategy is to look for the type you like with standard words like muscle, blond, latin, black, etc... And then spend your time looking at those posts to see if there are any "code" words like generous, need help, etc... It's just too much work. A lot of people have moved on to looking at backpage MaleEscorts section. Life's much simpler on backpage.

I agree that it seems like too much unnecessary uncertainty. I feel the same way about Backpage. I'm always amused when I see the same photos but different phone numbers and screen names for several escorts. not to mention the same language. Is there a Backpage template (real guy, real photos... no rush always a great time... Guaranteed to leave you with a smile on your face... 9/10/11 reasons to see me... etc)?

I can't keep up with the years, so I'll just say three years ago, I met a cutie whose ad was on Craigslist in San Francisco.

Our contact was simple, his fee reasonable, he was handsome and hung, and, I think, a neophyte, but all in all I enjoyed his company.

So to "cut to the chase," I'd advise that one be cautious but not rule out connecting with the guys who advertise on FB.

Also, some guys advertise on Craigslist as well as at http://www.rentboy.com, http://www.rentmen.com, and http://www.backpage.com. I write this

because one of my favorite escorts in San Francisco, "unrawAsian," does. I've been with him on four occasions and possibly will see

him again in June or later after a month's trip which I hope to take. {Don't freak out with Bill's name; it does not refer to bb.}

I agree, but I think the uncertainty is part of the thrill of the hunt for some. I've certainly felt it before - the idea that you might find some rare undiscovered gem, some guy who isn't ready to put on a rentboy ad and commit to being an escort, but might just dabble via craig's list during a time when he needs some funds. The idea that one wouldn't be available to most people is certainly inviting. Although that said, there are a lot of Craig's List posters who are the exact opposite of rare, and just use it for incessant marketing ad nauseum.
