It's been a few weeks since my last test which Les won easily. So here we go again.

"Come a little bit closer your my kind of man"

I am sure that plenty of you remember this song. Maybe Les can even give us some photos from his huge collection go along with the answer}(

Candyman-it melts in your mouth not your hand:P

COME A LITTLE BIT CLOSER

In a little café just the other side of the border

She was just sitting there givin' me looks that made my mouth water

So I started walking her way

She belonged to that man, José

And I knew, yes I knew I should leave

When I heard her say, yeah

Come a little bit closer

You're my kind of man

So big and so strong

Come a little bit closer

I'm all alone

And the night is so long

So we started to dance

In my arms, she felt so inviting

That I just couldn't resist

Just one little kiss so exciting

Then I heard the guitar player say

"Vamoose, José's on his way"

Then I knew, yes I knew I should run

But then I heard her say, yeah

Come a little bit closer

You're my kind of man

So big and so strong

Come a little bit closer

I'm all alone

And the night is so long

Then the music stopped

When I looked the café was empty

Then I heard José say

"Man you know you're in trouble plenty"

So I dropped my drink from my hand

And through the window I ran

And as I rode away

I could hear her say to José, yeah

Come a little bit closer

You're my kind of man

So big and so strong

Come a little bit closer

I'm all alone

And the night is so long

La la-la-la la-la

La la-la-la la-la

Ho ho la-la

La la la-la

That was way to easy man! At least for me anyway, as I Love that song. Here are a couple of more that are fairly easy also, both by the same artist. They could be considered appropriate for this site.

I like mean old daddies sometimes

cynical and drunk and boring someone

That's Joni Mitchell's "The Last Time I Saw Richard" from the album "Blue"

Right on target! One of my very favorite songs. The other quote is from her song Carey. Carey get out your cane, I'll put on my finest silver.

Great to see another Joni fan here. I just love her voice and I think she is one of the greatest poetesses of the 20th century. She writes such beautiful words. She is such a great artist, imo, as she is always evolving and experimenting and is more interested in the art itself than in the money.

There was a great episode about her on the American Masters series on PBS, as since she has spent so much time in the USA, that we refuse to let Canada have sole claim to her. :)
