Thank you! The great escorts get alot of praise on here but I would like to publicly say (without naming names of course) how wonderful and marvelous my new clients have been in 2013. I also know that leading escorts dont say it enough but WE LOVE OUR REGULARS! That having been said, at the same time, I have NEVER encountered so many FLAKES, FRAUDS, FAKES AND FOOLS as i have lately. The gameplayers, the phone sex calls, the africa trip scammers, the set up an appointment and cancel in an hour guys, the bargain hunters and the downright rude people who have no concept of common courtesy. I feel alot of this is driven by the HOOK UP sites (see my thread about those sites and their impact on the biz) and the ever expanding position of illegal (and legal....) drugs in our culture. So I thank God for all the sober, sane, stable, sensible clients!! http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop

Mikey... What you describe more or less describes the current state if affairs regarding any fee for service business... the inconsiderate types, the bargain hunters, those that waste your time, etc... and remember that virtually every industry and profession has the equivalent of "hook up sites"... or at least places where services can be had on the fly or at least at a bargain basement price and where establishing a long-lasting bond between the parties involved is not part of the equation.

So this is not something that only effects the oldest profession, but all professions out there. However, you are correct... The good clients need to be thanked and indeed treasured.

Being an escort has taught me the principle of this may times over. Although guys who are considered in the 'broke college students' bracket have to find ways to scrimp and save, you always have to be mindful about those in the service industry and business's ect. I would never contact a barber in my many trips to cities across the country and say anything along the lines of, "my barber does it for____, or can you do it for ____ like we often get. Of course higher prices invite more negotiation, but no one likes being compared to another provider because no 2 are alike.

That said,I was just thinking about what Mikey said today actually. I was thinking, trying to figure what happened from the time I moved here to now? I moved to my current location not just because local business was good, but travel business was decent as well. And now, we've had 2 major airport cancellations this year and I've not but 1 request from stranded travelers (who doesn't need a little stress relief?).

Sometimes you start becoming delirious and making up excuses for things. Like is the country mad that Obama got re-elected and taking it out on escorts? Is it gas prices? Men4rent's rate elimination (since that's where most clients came from). Hookup aps? Is it because I'm posting on daddy's review forum? It's not like I got uglier since 2-3 years ago. I haven't moved from a mansion to a shack. So I've kind of taken myself out of the equation. Then you have your own clients telling you stuff about what type of escorts clients don't usually hire. It's like wait a minute now, nobody NEEDS to be reminded that they're probably being overlooked for reasons out of their control on top of everything else. We don't need anymore dead sex workers in huff post.

Joey brings up some EXCELLENT points. What m4rentnow did in eliminating the rates is the STUPIDEST thing any website has EVER done. The new clients are confused. They think they are going to be told $100 and when they hear 200 many actually get mad and belittle you. One minute they are telling me I am the hottest guy they have ever seen in pics with the biggest cock and then after I tell them the rate they grow very cold..... then there is the economy and the President and SEQUESTRATION! Perhaps I should tour in DC and protest this fuckingly INEPT CONGRESS that is destroying this nation. On bartering....well, it is strange because with CARS it is very acceptable as it is in buying a HOUSE. One offers one price and the other counters. However one would NEVER go into Commanders Palace restaurant in NOLA and tell the server that you will pay 20 for the FILET which is priced at 38...never! You would be asked to leave. So is bartering acceptable in the escort world? With me it is not because , thankfully , I am still in high demand at full price. I find it demeaning and insulting but it is done over Mercedes Benzes so maybe I am wrong. if you have not seen my videos they are at http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop

When these discussions of "bargaining" and/or "bartering" etc. come up I'm always reminded of Kevin Slater's post..

"You won't find consensus on this contentious issue. Truly, the only opinion that matters is yours and the escort's in question. One point to ponder is whether you want to hire a personal service after having haggled negotiated its price."

Exactly...this as always been one of my points. I think that in the end, at least for me, a personal connection seems to be lost when haggling or negotiating. Haggling might work for some, but I never have felt good about it. So I just don't ever consider it.

Fortunently, the seasoned hobbyists know what the going rates are as they've seen ads before the changes. I suppose the only good thing that came out of it is the fact that I always felt concerned about when I had 3 different travel cities up...I wanted my local rate and travel rate to be different so I'd have to adjust the prices often. It'd usually be just a $20-40 difference but I didn't want to work away from home incurring extra expenses at my local rate, or be seen as raising the rates on the local market. Or what I'd charge in San Francisco versus Oklahoma City wouldn't be the same. So that was always a dilemma.

But doing away with them completely just created a new one. It's like by-passing a compressor to keep the engine running. Well you fixed that but now you don't have A/C.
