My expat time in NYC will end in June. I will start a new job. The first six months fulltime DC and after that fulltime Brussels. Now i have a great place in the upper east side. Which parts of DC and Brussels can live up with that?

Rhode-Saint-Genèse is the posh and chic neighborhood in the outskirts of Brussels (15 km away)

If you want to be in the City you might want to consider the following neighborhoods: avenue Louise, les Jardins du Roi, Etangs d'Ixelles, Uccle, Woluwé-Saint-Pierre and Woluwé-Saint-Lambert.

Dupont Circle / Kalorama in DC are great.

The gays have moved east of there to Logan Circle which is the more hip area with a Whole Foods etc, etc.

They're next to each other so you can't go wrong, just make sure where ever you pick is an easy commute, avoid the burbs as traffic was just ranked the worst in the US.
