While reading the article I found it interesting that the history of pubic hair trimming(and total removal) could be traced to the disappearance of pubic hair in magazines such as Playboy and pornographic photos and films beginning in the 1970s. By 2000 pubic hair had nearly disappeared in most pornography.

Given the interest many Americans have in how they look, and how important it is to be like everyone else, I am not surprised, not at all. A related thought: anyone have any information/thoughts about when women in North America began shaving their legs and underarms? This phenomenon seems to have spread to most areas where western culture has an influence.

A laser hair removal establishment recently opened on my area... In a major shopping plaza... With a big blazing sign advertising the fact. I happen to know the receptionist and she said that a significant portion of the clientele are indeed men. It would be interesting to know what they are having done...

At any rate, I am not sure if I would want a laser directed down there... Though it might make for a quite interesting S&M technique... :)

I trim my pubic hair....not down to nothing but a small trim.

My advice to people who want to trim "safely" is invest a little over $30 in a Norelco Men's Body trimmer...a lot safer and wise than a razor and grass that the article states.

Half of being safe is being sane and sensible

What's wrong in this Country that most people are obsessed with trimming or shaving men's body hair??

STOP THE INSANITY!!

Thank you!

I have told and told my couple favorite scorts to LEAVE IT ALONE but to no avail. :(

I am EXTREMELY tactile and LOVE hair on a guy. That's one thing I really enjoyed about Steven Draker was feeling his chest hair on my back.

Hey ErieBear....what was Steven's hair doing on your back....

I don't get it either... according to the Bard the beast is supposed to have TWO backs... ;)

Sorry.. But I do agree with the Ancient Romans SMOOTH is like a Marble Statue to be Worshipped!

Ultimately my good friend BG is... as is usually the case... no make that always the case... is right on the mark!

In my area the laser hair removal establishments are doing mostly backs, upper arms on men (straight and gay) and chest, abs and pubes on gay men.

Being involved in bodybuilding and being around bodybuilders most of my life I'm a BIG fan of the shaved body look. When I'm playing with a great body I don't anything between my hands and my mouth and the body I'm working over and that definitely includes hair.

Totally Agree! But unfortunately there are those guys who make a feeble attempt at SMOOTH and just present a Bod with stubble all over it! I do request IF a guy does go SMOOTH that he has made the Smooth Move before we hangout!

I have also had the pleasure of assisting a couple to this end! The Norelco Body Trimmer Works Fantastically in ALL Areas!

...superb question. I certainly prefer men who have some bush adorning them, esp. "down there."

Perhaps there is a correlation here with leisure time. In the old days when people took their laundry down to the stream for washing, I don't suppose those folks traded grooming secrets and tips such as this thread discusses. I guess we humans need to keep ourselves occupied to feel alive and with the proliferation of leisure time, the country is just ripe for a new fashion craze where everybody trims/shaves/something their body hair. Discovering new recherché grooming tasks might just be an aspect of being human. I'm just waiting to see ads for new shaving creams for those who want to trim their bushes. Can't you just see the billboards on the trains, buses, subways, etc?
