I am a BIG fan of Broadway in the 40's, 50's, and 60's. Since joining this forum, I have looked for the set of lyrics that, I think, best describes the client/escort relationship and its possible "BFE" angst. Great song, and I agree it captures that precarious sense perfectly. (Of course it does, as Vera is "keeping" Joey in the show.) Thanks, unsub, for offering the original lyrics, and not the cleaned-up ones that are more commonly known. ;-)
