All In One Basket-So To Speak

I found a new streaming service for movies that a lot of you probably already know about. It's called Vudu (http://www.vudu.com). I've been able to stream several movies to my laptop that Netflix only offered on DVD. For some reason, I decided I wanted to watch Kiss Me Kate with Howard Keel (loved him) and Kathryn Grayson (she was quite pretty in it). I realize most of us know what it's about. But for those younger member who might not--it's a musical version of Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew presented as a play within a movie. The 2 lead actors were formerly married and are feuding. Well the music is incredible with songs from Cole Porter. The dancing is great too. And the color--it's shot in those warm supersaturated tones that they never do anymore.

 

But to the point of this thread--during the play of the Taming of The Shrew all the main male leads are in tights. And while the tights aren't extremely form fitting, they generally show a nice bulge in the crotch region. And as I was watching it on my laptop in my lap, I'm thinking I could see this a lot better than I might have sitting in a movie theater when it originally came out. I spent a lot of the movie wondering whether they were wearing cups or whether the area had been especially padded.

I've never seen the movie nor the stage version, but I am a huge fan of the music. At one time, I had a vinyl (!) recoding of the original Broadway cast. When I moved cross-country, I gave my vinyl collection to a 20-something neighbor who became an instant Kiss Me Kate fan.
