Had a strange question and thought I'd ask it.

When an escort retires from the business for whatever reason (i.e. finds a partner who doesn't approve, etc) and they apply for a "regular" job, how do they list it on their resume?

Just a strange question from the mind of EB.

I would suspect that would all depend on the KIND of job they are applying for. ?

Unfortunately, if it is a job in the traditional sense, then yes listing it is not an option. Escorting as a profession poses all kinds of problems. Most escorts that I have talked to who want to or have left the "business" have started their own businesses. Those that have not have educated themselves in the field that they want to go into and then used their education as the reference. It is not altogether impossible, but it is a small glitch that many just have to deal with. There are many problems that escorts have to deal with that someone that has a 'traditional' job does not have to be concerned about. Getting qualified for a mortgage can be problematic. Banks will often require exorbitant amounts of money as a down payment, because the escort can not provide a source of income.

An escort can get a mortgage just the same as any other self-employed person. There's no reason that his tax return ought not show a very healthy source of income. I don't know if you meant to say tax cheats, but escorts qua escorts ought to have little difficulty.

No I did not mean to say that...LOL but I know countless people in the service industry, who do not report full disclosure on income. I am not judging, I am only saying that even with full disclosure, in this economy, banks have changed the rules drastically to protect themselves. I personally just went through this process a few months ago, and the difference in obtaining financing in this climate as say for instances 5 years ago is night and day. Even with 50 to 60% down, banks will often turn you down, depending what is trending in the real estate climate where the escort is. I was unable to obtain a loan despite the fact that I already own property that is free and clear. They would not even entertain an offer. I was forced to obtain the property in another way. Every area is different, and no two situations are the same. Sadly! Is it possible, absolutely, but it is without question more difficult, especially with someone who can not show a weekly/monthly pay check from a 'traditional' company.

I like that Kevin, but in all seriousness, and I am just asking here, because many members will need this information, what do you tell the bank when they require pay stubs or verification of employment from "Acme Tool and Die?"

I am running out the door, so I will have to wait till tonight to see your reponse. But this is something that many escorts will need to know, if they are trying to purchase property.

I was assuming he legitimately worked for Acme before he entered escorting (notice the dates).

Just an input based on a very close friend who is self-employed and was recently buying a condo (first property). He has been self-employed for a little over 2 years. Previously worked for a major corporation. Had substantial down payment and a verifiable great income and credit history. After numerous dealings with banks and mortgage brokers, he was told, under new guidelines, that self-employed individuals must have a minimum of 5 consecutive years of self-employed records irregardless of their current financial abilities.

Mortgages are being OFFERED at very low rates with extensive advertising, but how many are being approved and for who.

An asian massage boy/man i know who worked ASSiduously in NYC for more than a decade had saved up enough cash to completely purchase a small apartment in las vegas and also a concession stand in a local mall where he is his own boss. I know he did not have papers and was and still is living under the radar....

Firstly... a partner who doesn't approve is a partner not worth having

I have retired a few times, once when I has psoriasis (a non contagious skin infection) which looked like I had leopard skin all over my belly - I only entertained regulars who were told in advance, none of whom were bothered and again when I had a relationship and I hadn't told him anything about my "sideline". The relationship went tits up because he turned out to be more bottom than me and I really wanted a big burly beary man, which he was until he was as camp as Liza Minnelli around his friends.

When I was with my "big bear" I worked full time in accountancy, however the 9-5 routine got on my tits. When I applied for the job I told them I had done freelance accountancy from home and they never questioned it. When I had psoriasis my income dropped about 50% because I didn't advertise and seen only regulars but claimed on my credit card and mortgage payment insurances and they again accepted that I had been working freelance doing accountancy and never questioned it. There was regular amounts every week paid into my bank before I made the claims so it just looked like cash book keeping work, rather than sucking cock 4 times a day hahahahaha

I think the most straightforward way of accomplishing a transition from full-time escorting to a job with an employer, is to attend a graduate program, get an internship, and use that as your experience.

The escort can always politely "suggest" to a long time client, who just happens to own or be the CEO of a company, that it would be in his best interest to hire him. No resume or interview needed.

Those "guidelines" are probably for that specific lender (bank, mortgage company, etc.). There are no established rules and/or regulations from the banking or lending authorities regarding someone haveing to have five years of self-employment to obtain a mortgage. Granted, "guidelines" are much more stringent and strict than they used to be (in general), but careful and diligent "shopping" can get a decent deal on a mortgage.

In my practice of advising clients, I've had more than a few from the "industry" being talked about in this thread--including providers as well as dancers and masseurs. My advice has always been to run "the business" just like a business: Keep an excellent set of books, create a d/b/a ("Doing Business As") entity at the local county courthouse, and file taxes and keep one's personal and business credit in immaculate condtion. Create the d/b/a with a name that is very generic sounding ("Consolidated General Services" or "Service Company of whatever town or county you reside" as examples) and list yourself as the "General Manager" and then show as your duties such things as managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, purchasing, etc.. In over 30 years of advice, this has always worked and worked well for clients--as long as they follow all the rules and file taxes and stay on the up and up.

What good advice - which mirrors my own experience, because I am a part qualified accountant I could easily mask over the "absent from full time job" bit because I was "working from home", they never questioned the working bit because of my qualifications and it was similar to accountancy because I was counting someone else's cash on a daily basis.

You can always say you were taking care of a sick parent who finally passed away and now you are rejoining the workplace. Be sure to look sad when you say this.

And don't ever ever cross dress while you are doing this, that rarely works.

But I always wear my good luck pink satin panties with matching garter belt when on a job interview.
