This was a touching news story when it hit a while back. I wasn't at all surprised when Ellen DeGeneres featured it on her season opening show yesterday:

Not only is it September 11th -- and my only sister has lived in NYC for the past 14 years -- but it's also my first day alone in my home. My soon-to-be-ex moved out this afternoon.

Thanks to all of you. We may be a weird little family, but I'm proud to be a part of it.
