This strip bar--advertised as the only one of its kind in Massachusetts--has opened on Saturday nights. There is a nominal coverage charge--$7 for non-members; $4 if you fill out an application and receive a membership number. The bar itself is nicely appointed: the lighting, decor is modern and tastefully done. The bar and the restrooms are extremely neat and clean and appear new. The BAR opens at 9 PM on Saturdays, and the two young "twinky" bartenders who were on duty were friendly, easy on the eyes and not aggressive in pushing drinks. If you wish to check your coat, you may for a $1 charge. The stage and audience area for the dancers is very close to the bar at the rear of the open designed floor plan. There are four tables which seat 4 or more people, and higher tables with stools behind those four tables and also areas to sit on stools along the wall. The men's and ladies rooms--which I noticed was being used by the guys as well--are to the left rear of the dance area, next to the Exit, or where the dancer's enter. The stage is rectangular, backed by a wall mirror, not very large, I would guess maybe 10 feet by 6 feet. Having said all that, let me get to the evening's entertainment.

According to the posters in the bar, the strippers are "auditioning" and appear at 10:00 PM. When I talked to the manager he revealed that the dancers usually start at 10:30. When did they actually start? Last Saturday the dancers began at 11:00. Before that a large screen video was displayed on the wall with a lot of Madonna videos, Janet Jackson, etc. Music was VERY loud for those of you with sensitive ears. There were 11 dancers and I don't remember the names of most---a few I do recall, but will omit.

Overall impression: Compared to Montreal, very disappointing. Compared to the Gaiety, which I have not visited in a couple of years, pretty similar in what the patrons can do in interacting with the strippers. There is no "back room" for private dances. The wall display advises you that tips are encouraged, bills can be placed in waistbands of briefs, etc. that there is NO TOUCHING of the dancer when he is totally nude. Private tableside dances are availabe from your favourite dancer for $10.

The first two dancers did a strip down to their underwear, and I thought that the format would be similar to the bars in Montreal, but the third dancer stripped down totally. So apparently, there is no one format for the dancers. Tippers were rare, but a few men did come up and put a bill in the dancers briefs. One dancer--from Texas--was more imaginative in getting tips. He wandered around the audience and because of this proximity, gather more bills than most of the others. He was also so the only one who would qualify as muscular--the others were, with one exception, young, lithe, gymnast or swimmer type bodies. After their first two appearances, many dancers wandered around the bar, or danced on two black boxes which were placed behind the tables, and in front of the stools area. These dancers are within easy reach of prospective tippers and if you make eye-contact with them, will come and dance for you or chat. Most of the dancers were amatuerish, but the display wall said that two or three, I have forgotten, were from a strip bar in Providence RI called "Saints and Sinners." They were more at ease on stage and had obviously preformed for this kind of crowd before. The dj was capable and quite often interjected comments about the tips or the dancer, the music, etc.

The music was so loud that by 12:30 am I had had enough---anticipating a headache the following day. But then I was sitting at one of the tables closest to the stage, and perhaps if I had moved, the sound wouldn't have been so bad. When I left, I got my coat back with a rather long wait--apparently some of the earlier checks had been taken to another site, but other than having to wait for a few minutes, no complaints in this department.

I only had beer, so I can say nothing about the quality of the drinks. Prices for soft drinks, and beer appeared to be reasonable and if you sit at the tables, not the bar, you can "nurse" one drink for as long as you like. There were no waiters circulating around those tables bringing drinks.

What goes on between dancers and patrons once the show is over, and the bar closes, I have no idea about-- and if others have visited XStatic and can provide more details, great.

Parking: along the street. There is a lot about three doors down, next to a deli/restaurant that is well-lighted and accessible, but not very large.

The bar is located on Chestnut Street within walking distance of a large Holiday Inn and a YMCA.

One other memorable fact: One dancer who "auditioned" on the night I was there was a gentleman who was somewhere in his late 60's or perhaps even early 70's. He had courage to do what he did, but I wonder what will happen in the future if others do the same. I'll make no comments about individual strippers in this message. If people have questions I can answer, I'll be glad to respond to private e-mails.

Samai,

Thanks for the review. I've been curious about that scene. From your description, it seems a cut or three below S&S -- particularly with regard to the TOUCHING and BACK ROOM. And you are right about Montreal. S&S has some of the flavor, but it's only an appetizer unless you ger out the BIG BUCKS -- and no Canadian exchange rate here.:-(

P.S.

You might consider posting this in the STRIP CLUB REVIEWS as this post will continue to be of interest and it will get buried in the archives.

Go to ESCORT REVEIWS and scroll down to SAUNAS AND STRIP CLUBS. Proceed just like any escort review from that point.
