Another great talent has left us today with the death of Ray Bradbury. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/science-fiction-author-ray-bradbury-dies-144137431.html

Although he is better known for Fahrentheit 451 and The Martian Chronicles, it's the books I read when I was younger, Dandelion Wine (which captured the essence of a child's summer) and Something Wicked This Way Comes that first come to mind for me.

Any other Bradbury fans here?

Definitely a fan of his work. The passing of a titan. Although, 91 years is a good long life by anyone's perception. :)

I was shocked that he was still alive - let alone dead - I thought that he had died 15 yeas ago - Was there some kind of hoax during that time frame or am I just confusing him with Gene Roddenbery? . . .

Oh just Beam me up!

I don't remember any rpevious reprots of his death. He was the last of that generation of giants - Heinlein, Clarke, Asimov...all gone.

In addition to his award winning writing, he was truly a fine, kind person.
