The NY Times book review this weekend features the new book about the Lawrence v. Texas sodomy case, "Flagrant Conduct". Cover page review and first-listed Editor's Choice. I got to read an advance reviewers copy and was really blown away by this book. It also received some good reviews in other places, including a lengthy New Yorker piece and an excerpt in The Atlantic this week. I think this is the big gay book of the season. I highly recommend it. Parts of it read like a novel. The author interviewed just about everybody of significance connected to the case and comes up with a vivid account.

The New Yorker review seemed so definitive that I was not going to read the book. But, your post changed my mind. You brought the book to life in a way that none of the reviews have so far. A superb example of the value of this particular forum.

Thanks. I think you will enjoy it. One friend who bought a copy as soon as it became available as a download wrote me that he found it suspenseful to read, even though he knew how it was going to turn end!
